Ale

The day Ale was born, we learned that he had Down syndrome, Patricia, his mother tells me, while holding a copy of Antena magazine, which featured them in an article published in July 1993. Yes, Ale became news because of his condition. After the initial tears and confusion, years of learning and understanding followed. Today, Ale makes a living as a magician through the project Inclusive Magic, which he shares with Omar. They self-manage the project with great effort and dedication, traveling across Spain, Chile, and different regions of Argentina, bringing their magic to anyone who invites them. The rights of people with disabilities are violated every day. They must navigate an environment that excludes them, judges them through its gaze, and idealizes them in ways that ultimately erase them as individuals.
