Where the Body Remains

Where the Body Remains is a continuation of Always Is Yesterday, a project initiated during the pandemic, in which portraits of 76 dancers from around the world were created via Zoom, photographing with the camera directed at the screen. In that context, homes became the only possible space for movement and presence. With the end of isolation, the work shifts to in-person encounters. The project continues in the homes of some of those same individuals, returning to spaces that had previously been mediated by distance and technology. Going back to these houses does not mean repeating the experience, but inhabiting it from another time, another rhythm, another closeness. The body remains within the everyday space and activates it. The home is no longer a backdrop or a stage: it becomes an extension of the body, a place where time settles and experience takes shape.
